teeth whitening

Teeth whitening is a simple, safe and cost effective way to brighten your smile and restore confidence. A professional whitening can remove deep discoloration and lighten your teeth several shades.

Why Get It Done Professionally

  • Offers safe, longer-lasting results than over-the-counter kits
  • Monitored by dental professionals to protect your enamel and gums
  • Custom treatment suited to your needs and sensitivity levels

What We Offer

At Matrix Dental Specialists, we offer both professional in-chair whitening and take-home whitening with custom fit or pre loaded whitening trays under the care of our dental team.

  • In-office whitening: quick, intensive booster treatment for faster results
  • Take-home kits: custom fit trays or non-custom preloaded gel trays are for safe whitening at home
  • A combination of in-office and take-home whitening offers the most effective and longest lasting results for a brighter smile

We begin with an initial consultation to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy and suitable for whitening (whitening gel only works on natural teeth, not on fillings, veneers or crowns).  A professional scale and polish appointment (60 minutes) is recommended to remove any plaque, calculus and extrinsic stains to insure a clean tooth surface, for optimal results.

In-Office Whitening (90 minutes)

  • Preparation: A protective barrier is applied to your gums and lips to shield them from the whitening gel.
  • Whitening application: A professional-strength whitening gel is carefully applied to the tooth surface, fresh gel will be applied 2-3 times during the session.. The active ingredient (hydrogen peroxide) breaks down surface and internal stains.
  • Mild sensitivity might occur but usually fades quickly.

Take-Home Whitening

Take-home whitening is gentle and ideal for stabilising and maintaining your results after an in-chair treatment or as a standalone option (this method provides excellent results with consistent use over a period of about 1–2 weeks.).

Maintaining Your Whiter Smile

To keep your smile brighter for longer:

  • Avoid staining foods and drinks (coffee, tea, smoking, red wine, curry) for the first 48 hours after whitening.
  • Maintain excellent daily oral hygiene.
  • Schedule regular professional cleanings with your hygienist.
  • Touch up occasionally with your home whitening trays if needed.
